Development in Taiwan

Kuan Tao in 1946 from Shanghai, Tianjin and other places came to Taiwan.In 1954 , Mrs Sun Huiming Liu Shiyi through the Office of the President to join the army a long relationship from Hong Kong to Taiwan, settled Taichung (died 1975), then started a fad in Taiwan Kuan Tao.

Early activity was consistently Road ROC government repression, in 1953, Ministry of the Interior also ban, to take restrictive measures on its long-term. But still the people of Taiwan Kuan Tao won a large number of people into Taiwan's largest door.

Until 1987, February 21, by the Chiang Ching -Kuan Tao government announced the lifting of the ban, the Government has always been officially recognized as a legitimate religious channel.

一貫道于1946年由上海、天津等地分别傳入台灣。1954年，师母孫慧明通过总统府参军长刘士毅关系自香港前往台湾，定居台中市（1975年去世），此后一貫道開始在台湾盛行。

一貫道的早期活動曾被中華民國政府壓制，1953年內政部更頒布禁令，對其长期採取限制措施。但是一貫道仍然在台湾民众中获得了大批信徒，發展成台灣最大的道門。

直到1987年2月21日，由蔣經國政府宣布解除对一貫道的禁令，政府正式承認一貫道為合法宗教。
